Yeah i feel you man. I too have thick poofy hair and have wanted thin hair.

From personal experience the best thing to use is a hair straightener. It may seem gay at first, but using a straightener will actually make your hair thin and flat. However, just be careful not to burn yourself.

Good luck and let us know how it goes :DHow to get thin, flat hair for men.?
You could go to a hair salon and ask them to thin your hair. They will using thinning sheers which will remove the thickness but not the length. You can use a straightener to straighten your hair and help with the poof, but I don't recommend doing this everyday because it will damage your hair. Try doing that every other day or every 3rd day. Moose would add weight to your hair to help flatten it out but only use a small amount at a time or your hair will look greasy. Also if you straighten your hair get a heat protective spray so you don't damage your hair as much.

Finally your parents shaving your head does not effect your hair thickness today :)
Shaving does NOT cause thicker hair. It's just genetics. So your parents didn't cause this besides giving you the genes. People got confused with the shaving thing because new hair follicles are being formed, then you shave and make the lengths equal again so everything (including the new follicles) grow together. Then you shave again and the newest follicles start growing with. And it continues until your body is done creating the hair follicles. But that happens anyways, it isn't caused by shaving.

You can try everything you want but buttom line is you have what you have.

At least when you get old you won't lose your hair like everyone that has thin hair does. You'll have nice hair even when you're old!
looks like its time to get a straightener / flat iron :D
