I'm a 65 year old man looking for the right shampoo. My hair is dry & thinning but not gone yet. Help please.?

Hello Mags !

You need a shampoo that is specifficaly formulated for dry hair. These types of shampoos have a greatter percentage of conditioner compared to detergents. There are so many brands out there you can choose from. Just go to the shampoo section of your local supermarket and look for a product that is specifically formulated for dry hair...that is the key.

If your hair is extremely dry and you are sensitive to most shampoos, you can try Johnson's baby shampoo....I know it seems wierd, but it is very mild and has a clean fresh scent.

Whats the best hair thickening shampoo for a middleaged man who's hair is extremley thinning out and fine?

How effective is hair transplant for male pattern thinning of hair(palm size) over crown for 38 year man?

and where is the best place to do it ?How effective is hair transplant for male pattern thinning of hair(palm size) over crown for 38 year man?
Hair transplant surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Tour2india4health Consultants .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Tour2india4health Consultants is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

What is a good hair cut/style for a man with a big head and thinning hair/receding hairline?

I'm asking you guys because every time my hubby goes to get a haircut they give him a really stupid looking one. It always makes his head look bigger and they'll cut it short but give him this longer fringe in the front, I don't know if they're trying to hide the receding hairline (it's still in the early stages, it's not bad by any means) and to me it just looks plain ridiculous.

So there it is. He has straight, dark hair. Thinner hair, but not too thin. Early stages of receding hairline. LARGE head. He wears a mustache and a goatee/beard thingy. He has a weaker type chin, so the goatee/beard thingy balances out the rest of his face.

I hope I gave a good enough description, if you have questions just ask and I will add details.

Thanks so much! :)What is a good hair cut/style for a man with a big head and thinning hair/receding hairline?
There's a couple of options for this look, since it is actually very popular and adaptable (the goatee-with-thinner-hair- look :). One option (especially if he's got a good-sized crown) would be to try shaving it bald; this can be a very youthful and flattering look on the right man. Another option (and maybe one to try first, since it involves keeping some of the hair), would be to cut it relatively short on the sides, and then leaving just a few millimetres longer on top, then texturizing the hair on top to give more volume and lift. This will flatter the hairline without emphasizing it (think Bruce Willis). The most important thing to remember with thin hair (especially paired with a receding hairline) is that you never want the hair to be too long, or too much at the same length, or else they will tend to clump together and expose more of the scalp, making it look even thinner. When you texturize with layers, it allows movement and gives the illusion of thickness and volume. To style, you will want to use just the very smallest amount of pomade, rubbed into the palms and then just touched onto random places on the hair to allow it to have that sexy, bedhead look.

  • Best shampoo to use for thinning or balding hair as young man?

I am not sure what brings it back- but if you start using Rogain or a generic equivalent now, it will help keep you from losing more.

My boyfriend and his brother both started to lose hair in their early 20's. The one that freaked out and started using Rogain is the one who still has his hair, years later.

Keep in mind that you will need to keep using it, though, and it is not cheap.Best shampoo to use for thinning or balding hair as young man?

Which look is best for a 30yr old man with thinning hair? Close cut , clean shaven, fully grown, or toupe?

I have thin hair on top and somewhat thicker on the sides. I am not really considering the toupe (hair club) or hair plugs route, but feel free to comment on that too. My ex gf preferred it grown to about 2/10';. Thanks!Which look is best for a 30yr old man with thinning hair? Close cut , clean shaven, fully grown, or toupe?
Well, I think the most important thing is of course what makes YOU feel the best about yourself. That said, I totally prefer and appreciate a man who appears clean and smells good, too. Toupe' is a postive NO. I think that close cut is most attractive. I know lots of guys these days are going with the clean shaven look. I don't really have a problem with that, but SO many guys are doing that...I prefer someone who looks like he cares what he looks like, but not obsesses about it. Seems like the clean shaven look is a bit obsessive, or drastic. And not very original.Which look is best for a 30yr old man with thinning hair? Close cut , clean shaven, fully grown, or toupe?
If you shave it clean, chances are its not growing back. I would keep it short.

I was wondering, is it possible for a man with thin, straight and flat hair to make it a little thicker.?

Also, I would like to get it to go ';up and back'; if you now what I mean. I guess the only example I would have offhand would be The Proclaimer's hairstyles. If you know any styling techniques to get it that way, or a really good site which can tell me, let me know.I was wondering, is it possible for a man with thin, straight and flat hair to make it a little thicker.?
blowdry hair while brushing up and use volumizing hairspray for hold.I was wondering, is it possible for a man with thin, straight and flat hair to make it a little thicker.?
Use mousse, not gel. Mousse expands hair and gel flatens it!

FOR MEN ONLY : wud u prefer to date a girl wit curly hair/straight hair? wit a thin/fat figure?

and WHY?!FOR MEN ONLY : wud u prefer to date a girl wit curly hair/straight hair? wit a thin/fat figure?
Not superficial, would date a girl that has the whole package, smart, funny, laid-back, makes me feel good about myself, enjoys theme parks as well as relaxing on a picnic blanket on a sunny day, list goes on-and-on, not just about what someone weighs and the way her hair looks.....a girl consumed with those 2 things sounds rather self-obsessed and would turn me off........FOR MEN ONLY : wud u prefer to date a girl wit curly hair/straight hair? wit a thin/fat figure?
I kind of like curly better, but staight hair can be sexy too.

Fat women are less attractive to me, it sort of conveys a lack of discipline, wilpower etc.

besides this whole country is alarmingly overweight, and if you are in shape you know what it takes to get and stay that way... so I think you appreciate someone else showing that quality.

Not to mention sex with fat chicks is hard work, less fun, less exciting and if you got into a long term relationship her obesity is going to be the reason she will die and you'll feel bad for not helping her get healthy!
curly and healthy, goes good for me, though no problem with the straight hairs,
I can't make anyone. so i'd say, someone who doesn't have the annoying habit of doing exactly what i say to do, and when i say to.hahaha Straight hair curly hair, what's the difference?
A girl with long flat hair and not to thin or fat I would say average or in between.

Why, I think it is very sexy long flat heair instead od long curly hair that goes all over.

What are some alternative treatments for thinning hair? I read a man who used a regimen of nutrient vitamins?

and he wrote an answer in here a few weeks ago and I wrote down his responses, which was excellent, and included supplements he'd been taking that'd been effective for him - I'm a little thinning on the top at 45 and couldn't even find the question in the archives.... I can't find the paper I wrote it all on...What are some alternative treatments for thinning hair? I read a man who used a regimen of nutrient vitamins?
If hair thinning is part of the regular pattern of male pattern baldness then anything that contains an inhibitor of the enzyme 5伪-Reductase (mainly type II) and the testosterone metabolite dihydrotestosterone (DHT) might help. This enzyme and the metabolite DHT are both implicated.

Saw palmetto [ Serenoa repens], nettle root , black cohosh [Actaea racemosa, Cimicifuga racemosa], willow herb [Epilobium parviflorum] can all help here.

Other herbs and supplements that can strengthen the hair include: horsetail [Equisetum arvense], zinc, B complex vitamins, protein and Methyl-sulfonyl-methane or MSM (sulphur is an integral part of the hair).

Externally you can try rosemary oil or lemongrass oil (cleanse the scalp and stimulates the circulation), capsicum/cayenne oil, ginger oil and black seed oil. You could use individually or make a cocktail.

Avoid soy (soya) as it can promote hair loss by its suppressing action on the thyroid gland. Good thyroid function is important for healthy hair so it might be a good idea to get a blood test. If you are not on thyroid medication you could take sea kelp tablets which might help with hair growth as they boost thyroid function....NOT if you are thyroid medication however.

The best things for hair (and antigraying) are

PABA, C, E, zinc and selenium, biotin and pantothenic acid and choline.

    Use a PH balanced shampoo.
Drink a soy protein shake each day, as hair is protein. The other suggestions for vitamins are good (natural multi-vitamin, B complex, etc) We put lotions on our skin but forget that the scalp needs to be nourished also. There is a natural alternative from Shaklee called Pro Sante Hair Treatment. Just rub on 20 drops on the scalp each day to help nourish the scalp and stimulate hair growth naturally.
Saw Palmetto, take 320-400 mg. It has been used by herbalists for hair loss in men and women. Research shows it's very effective for men.

Essential fatty acids, take a combonation containing a blend of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Take 4,000 mg of fish or flaxseed oil and evening primrose or borage oil containing 200 mg of GLA daily.

Biotin, take 2,000 to 3,000 mcg daily

MSM, take 3,000 mg daily. It contains the mineral sulfur, which helps promote hair development.

Fo Ti, take 500 mg 3 times daily. This chinese herb is used by practitioners of Oriental medicine to slow or stop hair loss, although it is mainly used in formulas with other herbs.

Silica, take 500 mg twice daily. This mineral fosters hair development.

Rosemary essential oil, apply 3-5 drops per 1 ounce of shampoo daily to improve scalp circulation.

Zinc is a mineral required for hair development. Take 30 mg daily, along with 3 mg of copper.

Take a high potency multivitamin to provide a base of nutrients for healthy hair. I would recommend Nature's Way Alive! multivitamins. It contains the super green foods such as chlorella, spirulina, barley and wheatgrass for healthy hair.

Is there a way to cure or Fixing Thinning Frontal Hair for Light-skinned black men?

My hair is really getting thin on the top of my head. It didn't always used to be that thin. My Thinning didn't really began to happen until probably 2 or 3 years after I graduated in 2003. I'm 24 yrs old. I come from a Biracial father mixed with black and white and my hair texture is just like his. Of course he has a bald style but looks really great with it. Is there anything I can do for my hair being thin? I'm already on a good diet and eat lots of veggetables and drink lots of water. But I feel as if thats not enough. Please help!

Is there a way to cure or Fixing Thinning Frontal Hair for Light-skinned black men?
A drug called minoxidil, when applied to thinning areas of the scalp daily, is believed to be effective in preventing further hair loss and in growing new hair. The drug helps in dilating the blood vessels, thereby affecting the blood supply and the supply of hormones to those areas of the scalp that are losing hair.

Another drug called finasteride taken in a pill form daily, helps in preventing further hair loss in most cases and growing new hair in some cases.

The use of such drugs may help to reduce hair fall but it is generally seen that when the application is stopped, regrown hair fall out. Side effects such as irritation of the scalp are also quite common. Corticosteroids: Injections of cortisone into the scalp can treat alopecia areata. Treatment is usually repeated monthly. Doctors sometimes prescribe corticosteroid pills for extensive hair loss due to alopecia areata.

Is There any Products out there For Thinning Hair. (man)?

Try nioxin. I work at a hair salon, and our clients swear by it. It's not like rogaine or anything like that, because other products will make any new hair fall out once you stop using it. Nioxin just helps your scalp natually re-grow hair. My boss likes to refer to it as a ';detox system for your scalp';.Is There any Products out there For Thinning Hair. (man)?

You should try Nioxin. It is a salon brand of shampoo that even has three differnt stages for thinning hair. My mom uses it and swears by it. I know it is a really popular brand. They dont only make shampoo either they also have other products.

Female hair loss, particulary that comes on very suddenly, can be the sign of a more serious illness, so you should probably consult a dermatologist. If it is just thinning hair or mild hair loss, products like Sephren or generic minoxidil are helpful for many women.
You can try Provillus they have a female specific hair loss solution. If you click thru to the website you will find the female version of this product.

Whats a good product for thinning hair but for a young man?

I am 19 and balding runs in my dads family so I was wondering for tips and a good product to keep hair strong and not too thin out.Whats a good product for thinning hair but for a young man?
Different hair regrowth products work differently. You need to determine what kind of male-patten baldness was more common in your family (e.g. Rogaine works on certain areas of the head only). So the first step is ';diagnosis';. Otherwise, there will be no benefit of spending money on these products. Also, there are no significant benefits of using hair regrowth products to prevent the hair falling out. It's genetically determined. Such products only help when the hair cannot grow by itself. So as long as nature's doing its thing, no need to interfere.Whats a good product for thinning hair but for a young man?
Nioxin has an amazing system for thinning hair. It can be used as a preventative measure, like if you havent started thinning yet, but want to stop it from happening, or it can be used on already noticably thinning hair...it says which is which right on the bottle/box...hope this helps!

When using nair for men does less hair come back and its thin and light like waxing or how does it come back?

When you remove your hair with a chemical remover like Nair, you're only effecting the hair that is showing, not the root. It will not make any difference in the growth pattern or quality of the hair.

When you wax, you are actually pulling the hair out of the follicle which causes damage to some degree and the hair doesn't grow as well because of it.When using nair for men does less hair come back and its thin and light like waxing or how does it come back?

Whenever I go to get my hair cut, some clever scissors-wielding git tells me I'm going a bit thin on top and tries to flog me tonic. I always refuse, partly because I'm not bald yet, and I'm an optimist, partly because I'm a technophobe and believe that tonics might actually make my hair fall out faster, and partly because I hate people who tell me that my hair is thinning. An ex of mine used to go for that shiite. All it used to do though was leave a red rash around his hairline. Was really pricey though. Load of bollox. Can't beat a short crop when it comes to going bald. Defo no Bobby Charlton combovers.
My ex boyfriend used to spend $150 per bottle to use on his thinning hair. Funny part was that when he got out of the shower, he'd have to spend another 5 minutes cleaning out his hair from the drain. So, to me, no these treatments do not work.
You should start using Nioxin shampoo, I have found it brilliant on my clients......there will be one to cater for your specific hair type, it is best to buy it from somewhere like trade secrets so you have the help of the stylist top match one for you...

An article in the either the British Daily Mail or Express the other day mentioned a new, upcoming treatment that's being developed. With caffine! Apparently it surpresses the hormone thingy that causes thining, i don't know if it reverses it, but it sounds like it might as the article speculated that it could be an even simpler/easier treatment than the second new one i'll mention. Apparently they say the alternative is to drink 60 cups of coffee a day (DON'T AS I'M PRETTY SURE THIS WILL KILL YOU)... or, you know, wait till this new medication arrives that delivers direct treatement to the area.

Another treatment that i've read about, thought to be available around 2010, God willing, involves taking a scalp sample from the side of the head (where the follicles either don't attract, or aren't affected by the hormone) stimulate them in a lab and re-inject them into your scalp some months later, after another few months it should re-grow, if it works, and not fall out again (as these new follicles wouldn't be affected by the hormone). It sounds similar but better than a hair transplant (or 'hair plugs' as some call them) which involves transplanting/'plugging' whole hairs from the back or side of the head. They can look quite ugly and unnatural though, like doll's hair and they're simply removing hair from one part of the head to another. Anyway, the article said the new treatment should be a cheap procedure and take up to 1000 injections for a fully bald head. It also said that in the future, it could be that baldness would be a choice. So hang in there.

What is the hair dye product for men with thin bald fade haircut?

I just got my haircut (Bald fade my favorite haircut) today and my barber told me that I should dye my hair a little darker. He explain to me why because I have thin hair and its a little blended with my skin tone. I am light skin with black hair. He told me that I should get it dyed in the barbershop for $30, to make it look darker and better. Is there a product for men out there i could use to get my hair darker. What is the hair dye product for men with thin bald fade haircut?
I highly recommend letting your barber do your hair. For $30 is a great deal. I charge $60 for men. So pay the $30 and get it done right. I use Matrix color Sync. It is an excellent color and grows out naturally. It won`t leave a harsh outgrowth line. I don`t think going darker would be such a great idea though. He should try to match your color, or even just slightly lighter. Darker will make your head shinier. Good Luck!!!What is the hair dye product for men with thin bald fade haircut?
I think it is called ';Just For Men';, or there may be more than one product available. Check at Walmart, CVS, Riteaid, Walgreens, or any drugstore where they have beauty/grooming supplies.

Depends on where it is thinning. if its the common side of temple reseading not much you can do. If its the vertex or crown of head, you can try ';Propecia'; or Minoxidil. You have a 50% chance of either regrowing or stopping any further loss. I don't know of any sure methods. My brother is almost completely bald, but I have no hair loss, so it's not completely hereditary like people say.
Drink 10-12 glasses of water daily and have a high protein diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Since iron-deficiency anemia can also cause hair loss, make sure that you eat a well-balanced diet that includes a daily serving or two of iron-rich foods. Check out

What are the best vitamins for a man with thin hair?

His hair is still there but just looking very thin on top. hes only 23 and its really getting him down... is there anything i can buy for him from boots or superdrug to help him????What are the best vitamins for a man with thin hair?
I am afraid hair loss in a male is not due to vitamin lack nor corrected by supplements.

2 Drugs do actually promote hair growth, finasteride (Propecia) which is taken orally and minoxidil (Rogaine/Regaine) which is applied locally.

Unfortunately there effects are erratic and unreliable and even those who respond well usually give up eventually as the treatments must be continued lifelong and are both quite expensive. What are the best vitamins for a man with thin hair?
There are no over-the-counter drugs to help him unfortunately. There are prescribable drugs that MAY help him but they are very expensive and I doubt your family doctor would prescribe them. I understand how he feels and I think you are a great partner for coming on here looking for a solution to his problem. I can't help thinking that this is a problem of self image that is highlighted by his hair thinning. He needs support and reassurance until he comes to terms with his appearance.

Beware of advertisements claiming to restore hair. There are many and almost none of them work. If you are looking for treatment make sure you go to someone who you can keep in touch with (ie: not over the internet)
you could try finding a trycologist but be warned they cost a fair bit. I stated going thin early in life, and i went to one. They did help, and i still have some hair many years later. With most men it seems it is an inherited trait. The only thing that has been found to be effective in hair loss treatment is Regain which can be bought from the chemist. Once you start using you must continue with it. This contains a drug called minoxidil which was used to control blood pressure. You just apply Regain to your scalp. It should help you keep what hair you have. You could try a good multi vitamin, Slogar are the best.
i have the same problem and i think the best thing you can do is buy PROPECIA FINASTERIDE

Vitamin E is meant for stimulating the oxygen intake in the body and improves the blood circulation. If there is proper blood circulation, hair growth is enhanced. Vitamin C assists the normal functioning of capillaries that carries the blood to the scalp. Even zinc is an important supplement, which should be consumed as it assists hair growth.

Biotin is necessary for hair growth. There are many sources of biotin such as brewer's yeast, brown rice, bulgur, green peas, lentils, oats, soybeans, sunflower seeds, and walnuts. What is the best treatment (medication, not transplant) for thinning hair in men?

any one heard of Procerin? how does it compare to propecia/rogain? other medications? What is the best treatment (medication, not transplant) for thinning hair in men?
I have encountered the male pattern baldness for 10 years. I have been taken Propecia for 7 years plus 5% minosidil with daily used. If you need my opinion I would say this is the ultimate solution and it is the best medical treatment for time being. You can visit www.newhair.com/ for further info and other Medical treatment options like Dustasteride 93% effectiveness.

Pls NO DO any surgery before you try these 2 medicines.

I have been through a scalp reduction and I nearly to kill myself 5 years ago. my MSN is christomyx@hotmail.com drop me a word if like.....good luckWhat is the best treatment (medication, not transplant) for thinning hair in men?
Honestly, I say SHAVE your head to a nice, clean short cut w/ a clean neckline. Don't even bother w/ the meds, some of them can cause impotence! Beleive me, I would rather have a bald/going bald fully erect man in my bed, than a hairy limp weenie man anyday. Just accept the male pattern baldness and thank your grandpa for passing the gene onto you. Good luck.
Kevis brand stuff wont bring hair back but it will stop it from falling out.

What is the best thing for thinning hair in black men age 24?

i have suddenly got thin spots all though my hair i have no real family history of hair loss and the thinning stared about a month ago a has just gotten worse in the last few weeks! i had a allergic reaction to bug spary about the time it started can this be the cause? What is the best thing for thinning hair in black men age 24?
There are many things that can cause your hair to thin. If I were you, I'd see a doctor to rule out any illnesses or environmental factors that could be the cause.

One major cause of hair loss is male pattern baldness. You say there is no family history, but do you know that you get it from your mother? It starts in your twenties. If that is the case, there is not much you can do except maybe have hair transplants.

If all else fails, the bald look is hot! What is the best thing for thinning hair in black men age 24?
I suggest a razor. My hair is thinning and I just cut it all off one day and its good. I don't know however if a allergic reaction is the problem and if so shaving it off and starting over should help.
Go to Sally's beauty Supply and Buy some Nioxin Shampoo and Conditioner.

Also Buy a Bottle of Rogain, and use it religiously

There is not much more you can do

these two treatments will stop your hair loss
I have a friend like that. There are hereditary, organic and environmental causes of hair loss. I'm not sure if thats due to the allergic reaction, although it can be a direct effect of the bug spray if it contains chemicals which can cause hair loss and if you'd sprayed it over your hair.

I'd suggest the best thing is to see a doctor cos it may also be due to some medical condition which may need appropriate treatment.

If a doctor is not possible, you can protect the remaining hair, keep it moist and cool. Avoid stretching it. Use a more friendly comb. Avoid using too much chemicals(lotions, shampoos, sprays etc) on your hair unless they have proven protective effect on scalp and hair. If it keeps falling you can shave and still look cool.
I would see a doctor because it could be a sign of something serious. But, I wouldn't worry about the hair loss itself, shave your head. Bald heads are in style.
i would say not to use bug spray anymore and wear a hat. I think that it is normal and it will go away soon. If it does not go away I would ask a doctor about it.
To get your scalp healthy again, there is a shampoo that promotes this.

    Nioxin
    that could be the cause
    it could be stress related
Is there anything you worried about? If no, by any possibility, it caused by the allergic reaction. Some boy on interracialmatch.com told me that : in his region, the people regard the thin hair as the mark of intelligence.

I think it would be best to shave it bald. Bald man looks kind of sexy. At least you don't have to worry about covering up your thinning parts of the head. No need to spend money on those trichologist treatments too.
A hat. Since you will be able to see your ';flaw'; no matter what, start wearing a hat if it bugs you. Or just look at Dave Matthews, he's hot and balding. NEXXUS ~ Vitatress, It is a wonderful product. They have a great shampoo and a creame(Biotin Sclap creame) to apply after. Combining these two treatments is a great formula! They have a ingredinent in them that helps open the cuticle back up so hair is free to grow, alot of the time where you have less hair your sclap tends to be shiny there is a build up in the cuticle that the hair grows from, this product is great to help that. They shampoo should retail around $10 and the creame around $12. You need to use it for at least a month before you will notice a difference. And this is not like the nioxin and other things along those lines that if you stop your hair will start to bald again, Although I would continusly use this as you will have much better results. You will only be able to find this in a salon. Good Luck!!
    What a coincidence.

There is a product called Nioxin. It is a product for thinning hair. Remember hair only grows 1/2 inch per month so it will take awhile to see the results but keep using it. Nioxin removes build up around the hair shaft so the hair can breath and grow faster. There's a shampoo, conditioner and a treatment. Use all three.

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

2007 Survey Results released on Female Opinions of Bald Men

97% of women surveyed say bald men can be sexy; 71% oppose bald men getting transplants; a bald man鈥檚 confidence is very important to women surveyed.

COON RAPIDS, Minn. (September 17, 2007) The Brotherhood of Bald People Worldwide has released the results of their 2007 survey featuring opinions from women on bald men.

The 23-question survey was presented to women residing in various places within the United States to get their opinions and attitudes toward bald men, their sex appeal, dating, and overall opinions on baldness. Complete survey results are posted on The Brotherhood of Bald People Worldwide鈥檚 website at www.brotherhoodofbaldpeople.com.
Have your hair very short (5 - 10 mm). Nothing is worse than have longer hair with a beginning bold head. I personally think it is very charming.
shave it all off or have it cropped off really short. Whatever you do , do not have a comb over!
Nothing you can do about it, unless you want a hairpiece or a hair transplant. Its all in the genes.
Shave it off before its to noticeable, bald men are sexier than hairy one,s.
Dont be vain and shave it off. Bald is beautiful. Nothing looks worse than trying to cover up the inevitable. Enjoy.

wear hair cut short and no comb-overs. If that doesn't look good shaving the head bald can look really great.
Really, I also do not know the answer. It's also the problem of my husband.
If you are going bald see a doctor you can delay the inevitable with shampoos , scalp massage , good diet ,

Keep your scalp clean etc, etc!

What is the best hair gel for men who have thin hair?

It heavily depends on the hairstyle you want to have. Before you start you should have your hair ready in best condition. I use Head and Shoulders ';Shampoo';(Any deep cleaning ones that gets of dandruff/oil/dryness) I can't nail the name because they seem to be changing it everytime.

Just as a note, shampoo is very different from conditioner. Normal shampoos with no special function stated can only give you a slight wash and good smell, but will not help your hair's condition.

For conditioner, I perfer Matthew James' Leave In Moisturiser. It's a conditioner you don't have to wash off, best of all- it's not sticky! It really improved my hair's smoothness, and it comes at a very fair price- around $20 au a bottle, last for more than half a year. Even ladies will want hair caring tips from you. Totally magical.(This is no joke, it happened to me)

The leave in moistruiser comes in a orange bottle, I brought my at Price Cutters.

Head and Shoulder's conditioner produces rather medicore result after you dry your hair as hair dryer can damage your hair too.

Use stronger ones (e.g. Wella's High Hair) if you want gravity-defying ones (Like Mohawk)

I had a mohawk once, but it's done for the day if you lie down, or when you snooze on the bus.

Schwarzkopf ones also gives good shaping power too. I don't know what your hair is really like so I can't make the decision for you. But if you ask the hairdresser who works for the saloon they will find your ideal gel for you.

Most gels are sticky, I don't like sticky ones.

And pricy doesn't equal quality. You need to try it to know, try to find a friend with a 'raging good' hairstyle you like and see what they use. (Usually women)

    How I do it:

    1. Head and Shoulder Shampoo to bring head skin and hair cleanness back to normal level. Don't use ';Anti-danduff conditioner'; or solely conditioner/moisturiser, they don't remove abnormal condition (dryness etc)

Do step 1 at off peak times, which means nothing important will turn up within 24 hours. Usually I wash in the morning. Sleep after washing will give you a lion hair aka bad hair day(Good if you are going to flurry party). It's ok to use hair dryer at this stage.

    2. Use Matthew James' Leave In Moisturiser 'after' your hair is fully dried. Don't put a fistful of them, use moderate amount to avoid miscomfort and waste.

Wait for a few minutes, go have breakfast, watch tv.

Don't dry the leave on moisturiser with hair dryer, they are not like normal conditioners.

Grab a haircomb of your choice and work the magic.

    3. After it's done, use the hair gel of your choice. What is the best hair gel for men who have thin hair?
Depends totally on what you want to do with it. I hate heavily gelled hair so I use minimal amounts of Garnier Fructis Style Polishing Wax (Strong) which works well for very subtle styles... wouldn't recommend it for crazy anime sort of stuff. What is the best hair gel for men who have thin hair?
car 'oil.. thick good for hair gives it drive
I used to have incredibly short hair and I often made the mistake of using ';Extra Hold'; ';Hard Hold'; gels etc etc, use a gel with ';Natural Hold'; or a weak hairspray. Hard gel isn't always the answer for short/thin hair as it can make the hair look very bald when the gel dries and strands of hair stick together. Avoid wax completley! If you are going to use a heavy/hard gel, use minimum amounts only!

How to get thin, flat hair for men.?

hey,i have thick, poofy rough hair. i want thinn, flat, soft hair. I don't have african hair. i'm asian but i need thin hair. I think when i was an infant my parents shaved my head causing it to be pernimently thick. How to get thin, flat hair for men.?
Yeah i feel you man. I too have thick poofy hair and have wanted thin hair.

From personal experience the best thing to use is a hair straightener. It may seem gay at first, but using a straightener will actually make your hair thin and flat. However, just be careful not to burn yourself.

Good luck and let us know how it goes :DHow to get thin, flat hair for men.?
You could go to a hair salon and ask them to thin your hair. They will using thinning sheers which will remove the thickness but not the length. You can use a straightener to straighten your hair and help with the poof, but I don't recommend doing this everyday because it will damage your hair. Try doing that every other day or every 3rd day. Moose would add weight to your hair to help flatten it out but only use a small amount at a time or your hair will look greasy. Also if you straighten your hair get a heat protective spray so you don't damage your hair as much.

Finally your parents shaving your head does not effect your hair thickness today :)
Shaving does NOT cause thicker hair. It's just genetics. So your parents didn't cause this besides giving you the genes. People got confused with the shaving thing because new hair follicles are being formed, then you shave and make the lengths equal again so everything (including the new follicles) grow together. Then you shave again and the newest follicles start growing with. And it continues until your body is done creating the hair follicles. But that happens anyways, it isn't caused by shaving.

You can try everything you want but buttom line is you have what you have.

At least when you get old you won't lose your hair like everyone that has thin hair does. You'll have nice hair even when you're old!
looks like its time to get a straightener / flat iron :D
